DNA Dental Studio: The Dino N’ Angie Difference

Most people don’t appreciate a good dentist until something goes wrong. That isn’t a criticism. It’s just reality. When our teeth are behaving themselves, we tend to take them for granted. We brush them, floss them when we’re feeling ambitious, and schedule the occasional cleaning. Life moves on.

Then one day a tooth cracks.

Suddenly, the person cleaning your teeth every six months becomes one of the most important people in your life. That realization is what led me to write this article (and song)!

Lyrics

DNA Dental Studio (The Dino N Angie Difference) Lyrics

Most days I don’t think much about my dentist

That’s usually a good sign

That’s what I thought too

Everything was fine
Life was rolling along
Then one day a tooth cracked

Oh no
That’s a bad day

Yeah
That got my attention

CHORUS:
That’s the Dino N’ Angie Difference
That’s the part you figure out
Not from a sign
Not from an ad
Not from a five-star count

So how’d you know?

Because when something went wrong
They knew what to do

That matters

The funny thing is
I didn’t even know they had all those reviews

You didn’t?

Nope

How many?

Hundreds

Hundreds?

Hundreds

Okay
That’s impressive

But that’s not why I picked them

Then why?

My wife goes there

My son goes there

I go there too

That’s a real family dentist

CHORUS:
That’s the Dino N’ Angie Difference
That’s the part you figure out
Not from a sign
Not from an ad
Not from a five-star count

So what happened next?

Then came the root canal

Not ideal

Then came the implant

Definitely not ideal

But they explained the plan
They answered my questions
And I always knew what came next

That’s what people remember

A good dentist fixes the problem

Right

A great one makes you feel
Like the problem is going to be fixed

That’s the difference

FINAL CHORUS:
That’s the Dino N’ Angie Difference
That’s why families keep coming back
Most people don’t appreciate
A great dentist till something goes wrong

That’s true

I was lucky

Why’s that?

I already found mine

Advice you can trust from MyFriend

My wife, my son, and I have all been patients of DNA Dental Studio in Glendale for years. Like many people, I originally viewed my dentist as someone who helped keep my teeth healthy and fixed the occasional problem. It wasn’t until I found myself facing a cracked tooth, a root canal, and eventually a dental implant that I truly understood the value of having a dental team you trust.

While researching this article, I discovered something that surprised me.

DNA Dental Studio has accumulated hundreds of five-star reviews.

Not dozens.

Hundreds.

What surprised me even more was that I hadn’t chosen them because of those reviews. In fact, I wasn’t even aware of how many they had until I sat down to write this article. By then, they had already earned my trust.

As I began reading through those reviews, I noticed something interesting.

People weren’t talking about fillings. They weren’t talking about crowns. They weren’t talking about insurance paperwork.

They were talking about how Dino and Angie made them feel.

So Who Are Dino N’ Angie?

The first thing most people notice about DNA Dental Studio is the name.

At first glance, it sounds like a clever dental reference. After all, DNA and healthcare seem like natural companions. It wasn’t until I spent more time learning about the practice that I discovered DNA actually stands for Dino N’ Angie, the husband-and-wife team behind the office.

That small detail tells you quite a bit about the practice before you ever sit in the chair.

DNA Dental Studio is not a large corporate dental chain. It is the product of two dentists who built a practice (and a family, and a life) together and, judging by both my experience and the experiences of countless patients, built it around relationships rather than transactions.

Dr. Dino Gharibian and Dr. Angela Terzian both earned their Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from USC, but what interested me more than their academic credentials was something much simpler: both doctors have spent time on the patient side of dentistry as well.

Dr. Dino was born with a cleft palate and cleft lip, which meant dental visits were a regular part of his childhood. Dr. Angie also had significant experiences as a dental patient while growing up. That may seem like a small detail, but I suspect it has had a profound impact on how they approach patient care today.

There is a difference between understanding dentistry and understanding what it feels like to sit in the chair.

One comes from textbooks and training. The other comes from experience.

The most effective healthcare professionals tend to possess both.

“I’ve been a patient in the chair. I can relate to what you’re thinking, how you’re feeling, and what you’re anticipating. Let me help guide you through each step, and together, we can make your visit to the dentist something to look forward to.” -Angie Terzian & Dino Gharibian (AKA “Dino N’ Angie)

As I read through review after review, I noticed patients repeatedly describing the office as comforting, welcoming, gentle, patient, reassuring, and trustworthy. Those words appeared far too often to be coincidence. They suggest a culture that begins with the owners and extends throughout the entire practice.

And that may be the real Dino N’ Angie Difference.

Not just clinical expertise. Not just modern technology. Not just a beautiful office.

A genuine understanding that every patient walking through the door is carrying a different level of anxiety, uncertainty, or concern, and that helping people feel comfortable is just as important as helping them feel better.

For most businesses, culture is a slogan hanging on a wall.

For DNA Dental Studio, it seems to be something patients actually experience.

When A Routine Dentist Becomes Something More

For several years, DNA Dental Studio was simply my dentist. That is not meant as a criticism. In many ways, it is a compliment. Routine dental care should feel routine. My cleanings went well, my fillings were handled professionally, and life moved on. My wife and son were equally happy with their care, and there was never a reason to look elsewhere.

Then one day, a tooth cracked.

If you have never experienced a cracked tooth, allow me to summarize the experience for you: it immediately gets your attention.

Suddenly, dentistry stops being something you think about twice a year and becomes something you think about every minute. Every sip of coffee, every meal, every unexpected twinge becomes a reminder that something is wrong and needs to be addressed.

That was the moment I stopped evaluating DNA Dental Studio as a place for cleanings and started evaluating them as a trusted team.

The cracked tooth ultimately led to a root canal and, eventually, a dental implant. None of those words appear on anyone’s bucket list, but throughout the process I never felt lost, pressured, or uncertain about what came next.

The treatment plan was explained clearly. My questions were answered patiently. Most importantly, I always felt like there was a path forward.

Looking back, I think that is what separates a good dental practice from a great one.

A good dental practice fixes problems. A great dental practice gives you confidence that the problem is going to be fixed.

When you’re dealing with a cracked tooth, confidence is worth a lot.

The Reviews Finally Made Sense

When I first sat down to write this article, I thought the reviews were going to tell me something I didn’t already know.

Instead, they confirmed what I had experienced firsthand.

As I read through review after review, I noticed the same words appearing over and over again. Patients described the office as welcoming, comforting, professional, patient, gentle, and trustworthy. Some talked about overcoming years of dental anxiety. Others described procedures they had been dreading, only to discover they were far less intimidating than expected.

What struck me was not that the reviews were positive. It was that they were consistent.

When hundreds of people independently tell variations of the same story, you start to pay attention. The details may differ. One patient came in for Invisalign. Another needed an implant. Another was simply looking for a new family dentist.

Yet they all seemed to arrive at a similar conclusion.

They felt cared for.

That consistency is difficult to manufacture. It is much easier to deliver a great experience once than it is to deliver it hundreds of times over many years. Reading those reviews, I found myself nodding along because they reflected the same experience my family had already had.

The reviews weren’t teaching me something new.

They were helping me understand why DNA Dental Studio has earned such a loyal following.

The Supporting Cast Matters

Every successful business has a face.

The best businesses have a team.

While Dino and Angie deserve a great deal of credit for the culture they have created, they are not the only reason patients enjoy visiting DNA Dental Studio. One of the things that has consistently impressed me over the years is the quality of the staff surrounding them.

Whether it is someone greeting patients at the front desk, assisting during a procedure, taking X-rays, handling scheduling, or helping answer questions, every interaction seems to move in the same direction. Professional. Friendly. Helpful. Competent.

That level of consistency does not happen by accident.

At some point, I realized that what I was experiencing was not simply the result of having two good dentists. It was the result of having two good dentists who were also good at building a team. Every staff member I have encountered reflects the same values that Dino and Angie appear to bring to the practice themselves.

That is harder than it sounds.

Most of us have visited businesses where the owner is fantastic but the experience becomes inconsistent the moment someone else gets involved. One employee is wonderful. Another is indifferent. One interaction feels welcoming. The next feels transactional.

DNA Dental Studio has never felt that way to me.

Instead, the office feels remarkably aligned. The people answering the phones, coordinating appointments, assisting during procedures, and caring for patients all seem committed to the same goal: making the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Looking back, I think that is one of the reasons the reviews feel so consistent.

Patients are not just evaluating one person. They are evaluating the entire experience.

And when hundreds of people walk away describing that experience in similar terms, it suggests the culture is larger than any one individual.

That may be the most impressive part of all.

Dino and Angie did not simply build a dental practice.

They built a team that delivers the same message every day without ever having to say it out loud:

You’re in good hands.

Modern Dentistry Without Losing The Human Touch

There is an old stereotype that patients must choose between cutting-edge technology and personal service.

One office has the latest equipment but feels cold and impersonal.

Another office feels warm and welcoming but seems stuck twenty years in the past.

DNA Dental Studio manages to avoid both extremes.

The practice utilizes modern technology including digital imaging, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), digital scanners, and a variety of advanced treatment options ranging from Invisalign and cosmetic dentistry to implants and restorative procedures. In other words, the tools and technology are there when patients need them.

What impressed me, however, was that the technology never felt like the main attraction.

At some dental offices, the equipment seems to take center stage. Every conversation becomes a demonstration of machines, monitors, and gadgets. While there is certainly value in advanced technology, most patients are not looking for a science fair project. They are looking for answers, solutions, and confidence that they are receiving quality care.

DNA Dental Studio seems to understand that distinction.

The technology works quietly in the background, supporting diagnosis, treatment planning, accuracy, and patient comfort. It enhances the experience without replacing the human element that makes the practice stand out in the first place.

Perhaps that is another part of the Dino N’ Angie Difference.

They embrace modern dentistry without losing sight of the people sitting in the chair.

So What Is The Dino N’ Angie Difference?

By this point, you may be expecting me to identify a single secret ingredient.

A special technique.

A revolutionary technology.

A hidden formula.

I don’t think one exists.

In fact, I think the answer is much simpler than that.

The Dino N’ Angie Difference is the accumulation of dozens of small things done consistently well.

It is the way patients are greeted when they arrive.

It is the patience shown when questions are asked.

It is the ability to explain complicated procedures in a way that makes sense.

It is the professionalism of the staff.

It is the confidence that comes from knowing your dentist has a plan.

It is the feeling that the people caring for you are genuinely invested in a positive outcome.

Individually, none of those things seem remarkable.

Together, they create an experience that patients remember.

After reading hundreds of reviews, reflecting on my own experiences, and considering why my entire family continues to trust DNA Dental Studio with our dental care, I kept arriving at the same conclusion.

People may initially choose a dentist because of location, insurance coverage, or convenience.

They stay because of trust.

And trust appears to be the foundation upon which DNA Dental Studio has built its reputation.
