Costco Review: “Welcome to Costco, I love you!”

I’ve been a loyal Costco member since the mid-1980s — long before the merger, back when it was still called The Price Club. As much as the company has grown and as much as life has changed over the decades, one thing has not changed: Costco puts its members above all else.

Whether you find the post-apocalyptic version of Costco in the movie Idiocracy funny or not, the greeter’s line — “Welcome to Costco, I love you.” — still rings true after all these years. It’s comforting to know that genuine customer service, as rare as it can be these days, is still alive and well at Costco.

The staff are always friendly and willing to help with anything you need — from locating a hard-to-find item to handling no-hassle returns. Their warranty and support are practically legendary. For example, I once had a Samsung TV that died shortly after the manufacturer’s warranty had expired. I figured I was out of luck — but Costco provided me with a full refund, not a prorated one. It felt like having an 800-pound gorilla buddy watching my back.

And what did I do to reward that kind of service? I walked right back in and bought another TV — this time from a different brand — at Costco, of course.

Whether I am in the warehouse, trying their famous samples as I shop, in the tire and battery center getting TLC for my car, or buying from them online, I know I can always count on them to resolve issues that arise and support me when I need it. Being an Executive Member, I have access to the warehouse an hour early.

Costco has consistently earned my business and my trust. Decades after joining, I can still wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. Welcome to Costco — I love you, too.
